In my mid 20s I hit my breaking point.
I had spent thousands on skincare products, expensive facials, and trending tools; none of it was working.
I decided to put my Biology degree to use and created a massive list of ingredients. Every single one was tagged as beneficial, neutral, or irritating/harmful.
I even created a program where I could paste a product’s ingredient list and see if it contained anything potentially irritating.
The good news was that this approach worked. The bad news was that shopping for skincare now felt like a part-time job.
And I still had so many skin concerns to address that my routine stayed bloated. I had 10-15 steps to do every night, and getting ready for bed was taking me 30 minutes or more.
So I started brainstorming.
How would I consolidate this routine into just a few simple steps?
When I talked to friends and family about my journey and my frustrations, their eyes lit up in recognition.
That’s when I decided this was a problem worth solving for as many people as possible. And that was the start of GRAES.
